In this game,
four teams of participants compete in a similar marketplace,
beginning their game with a goal which could be either
profit maximisation or market share or a combination
of the two. The game is played over a maximum of 20
quarters. In each quarter, participants take decisions
to bid for projects, in the process understanding the
essentials of costing and pricing and prepare their
own Profit and Loss Accounts using an excel
template provided. At the end of each year, they prepare
their Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement.
The facilitator halts the game at regular intervals
to highlight learnings and weave the interplay between
finance and strategic decision making. Optionally, basics
of strategy, such as the BCG matrix, may be discussed.
